The lower half was pretty simple, but the sky was challenging. The cut is neither grid, nor ribbon, so fitting pieces was difficult. The left to right repeat pattern was helpful, but led to some misplaced pieces, which I had to swap. Overall, a beautiful result.

Regatta on the Quai des Pâquis is a lively view of Geneva’s celebrated waterfront by Swiss artist Frédéric Dufaux (1852–1943). The painting depicts sailing boats competing on Lake Geneva, with the Quai des Pâquis and the city of Geneva providing the setting. Combining a picturesque lakeside landscape with the spectacle of a popular sporting event, Dufaux captures the atmosphere of Geneva as a fashionable centre of leisure and sailing. The work is particularly appealing as a historical view of Lake Geneva and its waterfront before the modern city transformed the shoreline.
