I worked this on breaks between the garden and pool at the village house. I thought it would be more difficult than it turned out to be. I guess I'm getting the hang of ribbon cuts.
Gordons and Greys to the Front: An Incident at Waterloo is a dramatic historical painting by British artist Stanley Berkeley, created in 1898. It depicts the famous charge of the Scots Greys at the Battle of Waterloo, with soldiers of the Gordon Highlanders shown accompanying the cavalry by holding onto their stirrups. Berkeley's dynamic composition, crowded battlefield and powerful depiction of horses and soldiers reflect the Victorian fascination with heroic episodes from Britain's military past. Although the incident portrayed has been questioned by modern historians, the painting became a highly popular image through prints and magazine reproductions.
