La Fille de Lartiste a deux ans et Demi Avec un Bateau
Pablo Picasso
Production Date Unknown
This is the first Japanese puzzle I have ever done. I was pleased with the overall quality, but wish there were more variation in the pieces. It was a quick and fun build overall.
La Fille de l’artiste à deux ans et demi avec un bateau (The Artist’s Daughter, Two and a Half Years Old, with a Boat) is a tender portrait by Pablo Picasso depicting his young daughter in an intimate domestic setting. Painted during Picasso’s early experiments with simplified forms and expressive colour, the work combines the immediacy of childhood with the artist’s distinctive modernist vocabulary. The child’s direct presence, simplified features and boldly articulated forms demonstrate Picasso’s ability to transform a familiar family subject into a sophisticated study of perception, character and pictorial structure.
